Nothing Left To Do But Cry b/w Usher Boy by Merry Clayton - Soul 45 on Capitol Records #5100 Released in 1963. I had the pleasure of seeing and meeting Merry Clayton live on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at The Mint in Los Angeles. Wow, was she amazing! She still has the voice, the moves and a definite stage presence! Thank you to Rudy Calvo for inviting me and for sharing his photo of the one and only Merry Clayton. If you have never seen her live, it's a must. I guarantee she will leave you in awe! I must also mention her band as well, which included the legend James Gadson. They had the house rockin! Strings, strings, and more strings, that want to take center stage. They can't, at least not while Merry is singing! Brilliant vocals with a mellow but powerful backing track. I can't get enough of that voice, I just listened to this record 10 times in a row. I bet you will listen a few times in a row as well.
