The Skate b/w Come Back Baby by THE LARKS - Northern Soul 45 on Money Records #127 The Larks (aka The Meadowlarks) are a classic Los Angeles Soul group led by Don Julian. He is my favorite Los Angeles soul singer and I could have chosen any song to showcase him, he is that good! Amazing singer from the 50's and even was a part of music into the 90's when he collaborated with Too Short on his album Shorty The Pimp, which sampled Don Julian's song of the same title. An influential singer/writer/producer from his early days until his death in the late 1990's. I was lucky enough to speak to him on a call in show put on by the Doo Wop Society in the late 80's. I felt privileged and honored to speak to this Doowop, R&B, Soul, Funk legend before his passing.
