Hi, Sarah, lovely to hear Quiet Nights’ ~ sadly not so quiet in Brazil at this mmoent. My DJ friend, Joao de Penha, runs a jazz & bossa~nova station, Radio Teresopolis, a suburb of Rio, which has just suffered horrendous and devastating flooding, as you may well know. I have just received this from him: Beloved friend Liz, I appreciate so much you thinking of me. Yes, I’m ok and my relatives are safe (part of my family lives in Petrf3polis, one of the flood areas). But I am terribly sad with the tragic facts, of course. However, the hope survives.
