Pay Day b/w Wee Baby Blues by Val Martinez - R&B Soul b/w R&B Rocker 45 on RCA Victor #8273 "It's pay day, another week closer to the day I die". Dramatic is an understatement! It's been a while since I've collected a paycheck. Val Martinez brings me back to those days. Back breaking work for limited pay. It reminds me of what Sonny says in the movie "A Bronx Tale", "The working man is a sucker". Only now, I have learned that, it's not what I do but how I perceive what I do that is important. What I focus on grows. I choose to focus on what I love. Today, I can say that I love what I do! "Everybody join in on that hand clap" is the way the flip side introduces this killer R&B Rocker. This powerful groove, vocals and twangy guitars almost reminds me of Ritchie Valens. Nice double sider!
